The Financial Times, in partnership with Il Sole 24 Ore, brought together Italian entrepreneurs for the FTxMade in Italy Challenge 2022 from 9-13 May. The ‘hackathon’ was the first regional FT Talent challenge and the first edition of a global competition about solving real business and strategic challenges.

The 100 participants, selected from over 1,500 applications, were given access to expert masterclasses and talks about navigating the business world and approaching entrepreneurship, delivered by panels of experts from Financial Times and Il Sole 24 Ore. On the final day of the challenge, participants pitched their ideas in front of an audience of professionals as well as FT and Il Sole 24 Ore journalists and board members.

The challenge was hosted in collaboration with our partners Cisco, Illimity Bank, Johnson & Johnson, Technacy and Egea - who each set one of the topics for the challenge. Participants covered topics including connectviity, banking and sustainability.
