Agenda, the FT Specialist publication for corporate board directors, has launched The Agenda Future 50, a curated directory of board-ready professionals with future-forward expertise in artificial intelligence, workforce transformation, change management, and other areas.

Boards are searching for directors who can help their organisations adapt with agility while demonstrating the business acumen essential in the boardroom. The Agenda Future 50 was created to meet that need by presenting a carefully vetted roster of 50 leaders, whose skills position them to guide companies through a rapidly changing business landscape.

Its release comes at a pivotal time, as boards enter Q4 and begin reviewing their composition needs and sourcing new candidates. The directory will help boards identify and evaluate qualified directors ahead of proxy season.

Melissa Anderson, managing editor of Agenda, said, “As boards continue to push for a more strategic composition with forward-looking leaders, the guide offers a powerful, timely tool to identify those whose expertise aligns with the evolving challenges of governance in a technology-driven world.”

The Agenda Future 50 follows the success of The Agenda Diversity 100, published in 2021, which connected companies with diverse and dynamic board talent. Nearly one-third of those honorees were appointed to new boards within two years of publication, underscoring the impact of Agenda’s work in shaping modern boardrooms.

Selection Process

The Agenda Future 50 is the result of nine months of research, nominations and evaluation. Nominations were sourced from Agenda subscribers, attendees of the Outstanding Directors Exchange conference, and members of Agenda’s nominating committee, each invited to submit up to 15 individuals. Nearly 200 nominations were received.

A selection committee of seasoned board directors and governance experts reviewed and ranked the nominees. Data partner Equilar facilitated the ranking process and score calculations. Agenda’s editorial team then conducted interviews and vetted the top candidates, and produced concise biographical profiles for inclusion in the directory.
