The award-winning FTWeekend Festival returns to Kenwood House on 2 September, with headline speakers Greg James and Michael Gove already confirmed for the day-long event.

Spearheaded by FTWeekend’s newly appointed editor, Janine Gibson, the festival will showcase the best of FT and FTWeekend journalism and explore big ideas in politics, economics, climate and culture across ten different stages.

Alongside debates, panels and interviews with FT writers and world-renowned experts and commentators, guests can opt to indulge in a variety of hands-on experiences, including a rum tasting with drinks journalist Alice Lascelles, a live recording of an FT podcast, and a guided ceramics class with designer Henry Holland.

Janine Gibson commented: “It’s a true privilege to take on such a beloved event as the FTWeekend festival which is already a British summertime staple for fans and subscribers. Our expert FTWeekend team put together a programme of the timeliest, cleverest, most entertaining speakers and I’m so excited to see the big stories and connecting themes come to life over one brilliant day.”

Other speakers so far confirmed, with more to come, include journalist and podcast host Fi Glover; award-winning author Leïla Slimani; historian Simon Schama; chocolatier Pierre Marcolini; and Michelin-star chef Henrique Sá Pessoa.

The festival also features some of the FT's most distinguished journalists, including editor Roula Khalaf; US editor-at-large Gillian Tett; HTSI editor Jo Ellison; and More or Less presenter, Tim Harford
