The Financial Times today announces three senior hires as it concludes a successful year of continued subscriber growth and strong financial performance.

Nick Fallon has joined the FT as managing director for B2B. Based in London, he will report directly to FT Group CCO, Jon Slade. Fallon has an extensive background in commercial leadership of B2B and B2C digital subscription products, which has included tenures at The Economist, Oxford University, Informa, the British Standards Institution and Clarivate.

Jon Slade said: “Nick joins the FT with a passion for our mission and a breadth of experience in multiple organisations and roles. He will bring new perspectives to our commercial operation as we enter a new period of growth, built on the solid foundations already established.”

Carola York has been hired as managing director to lead the European business of FT Specialist, which is composed of 15 brands including The Banker and Investors’ Chronicle that provide information to niche audience groups. York most recently worked at Jellyfish, a marketing, data and strategy agency, and has also held roles at EMAP and The Economist.

Rosie Carr has been appointed editor of Investors’ Chronicle, having previously been deputy editor. Investors’ Chronicle, which won Subscription Publication of the Year at this year’s Newspaper and Magazine Awards, guides investors through every step of their investment journey, offering inspiration and education across the investment landscape, from stocks and shares to pensions and property.

York will report directly to Matt Fottrell, vice president, US of the FT and managing director of FT Specialist. Commenting on their appointments, Fottrell said: “I'm excited that Rosie can now deploy her experience and know-how to enhance Investors’ Chronicle’s stellar performance. I am also pleased to highlight that, with Rosie's appointment, ten of Specialist's fifteen products are now edited by women, including all of our largest subscription products.

“Carola has a rich publishing background, and she will add a huge amount of value to our European portfolio and to the excellent European management team. Our successful transformation continues and we’re excited to have Carola lead some of our largest products and brands, and also launch new products for new audiences.”
