The Financial Times has won six awards at the 2024 Press Awards, which recognises and celebrates the best of British journalism.

Artificial intelligence editor Madhumita Murgia won the award for Science and Technology Journalist of the Year. Judges said that Murgia “led the field in analysing the technology around AI and also the business machinations that come in its wake and the subsequent impacts they have on economies and politics.”

Global health editor Sarah Neville won the award for Health Journalist of the Year. Judges praised Neville’s “impressive, forensic insight into global health issues and the science behind them,” and her “exemplary ability to break down complicated and sensitive subjects with clarity and compassion.”

Northern England correspondent Jennifer Williams won the award for Broadsheet Feature Writer of the Year. Judges said that she “holds power to account in the best tradition of journalism,” and is a “thorn in the side of many who would prefer to keep the issues she covers out of the spotlight.”

The FT won Scoop of the Year award for the investigation by Madison Marriage and Antonia Cundy into Crispin Odey, one of Britain's richest men and most successful hedge fund managers. The judges said that it was “a searingly powerful exposé that broke the levee on accusations of a pattern of predatory behaviour by one of the City’s most powerful individuals.”

FT Edit, which offers readers eight of the FT’s best stories hand-picked every weekday, won the News App of the Year award. Judges praised how the app is “a breath of fresh air” and is “a brilliantly curated selection of stories, putting an end to endless scrolling.”

FT Weekend Magazine won the Supplement of the Year award recognizing the magazine's excellent long-form storytelling. Over the past year FT Weekend Magazine has grown its audience, deepened engagement and continued to produce outstanding and ambitious  journalism.
