Speakers debate the future of America at the 5th annual Financial Times View from the Top conference
At the 5th annual View from the Top conference in New York on October 13, Gene Sperling, Director, National Economic Council and Assistant to the President for Economic Policy, said it was “inexcusable” for Washington not to act on unemployment because of ideological differences.
The summit, co-chaired by Gillian Tett, US Managing Editor, and Martin Wolf, Chief Economics Commentator, of the FT focused on ‘The Future of America,’ and distinguished speakers weighed the issues facing the economy, business, US and China relations, and challenges to American power.
The event featured a roster of distinguished speakers including Laurence Fink, Chairman and CEO, BlackRock, Steven Rattner, former Counselor to US Treasury Secretary, Stephen Schwarzman, Chairman, CEO and Co-Founder, Blackstone, Peter Orszag, Vice Chairman of Global Banking, Citi and former Director, Office of Management and Budget, and Michael Spence, Nobel Laureate and professor of economics at NYU’s Stern School of Business, among others.
