The Financial Times has today appointed Mark Kleinman as a columnist for FT Weekend. Kleinman, who is the City editor of Sky News, will write a weekly column covering corporate news as well as analysis on the week’s top business stories. His first column will appear on June 19.

Lionel Barber, editor of the Financial Times, said: “I am delighted that Mark is joining FT Weekend. He is an award-winning, extremely well-regarded business journalist with a track record of breaking stories. He will be a valued asset to the team and help boost our weekend corporate news offering to readers.”

The new column, to be published under Mark’s own name, is the first in a series of innovations to be introduced at FT Weekend following Caroline Daniel’s appointment as editor. His appointment – and changes to come – will reinforce the Financial Times’ goal of being a must-read on the weekend.
