10 December 2019: Emma Agyemang, FT Money reporter, won the Words by Women business reporter of the year award last night for her reporting on the loan charge and for an exclusive interview with the then Financial Secretary, Mel Stride.

FT’s Madhumita Murgia, European technology correspondent, and Chloe Cornish, Middle East correspondent, were shortlisted in their respective areas.

The Words By Women Awards were originally launched in 2016 as a protest against the lack of female nominees in that year's industry awards.
