The FT has scooped two Harold Wincott Awards, recognising outstanding achievement in the field of economic, business and financial journalism.

John Kay won the Harold Wincott award for Senior Financial Journalism and Robert Cookson was awarded the prize for Young Financial Journalist of the Year.

The judges’ criteria includes clarity, depth of understanding, objectivity and the ability to write about complex topics in a way that is intelligible to the lay person but also authoritative.
