The Financial Times is partnering with Unicorn Theatre, a London-based organisation providing performance and education programmes for children, for its summer 2012 photography competition.

The competition invited 6-21 year olds to send in their top London images and 20 words explaining what they mean to them. FT photographer Charlie Bibby was a judge and the winners will also get a tour of the FT newsroom, as part of the prize. Winning images are being displayed at a public exhibition at the Unicorn throughout the summer.

Dorcas Morgan, Director of Development for Unicorn Theatre said: “We’re thrilled to be working with the FT on this exciting photo competition which celebrates a great year for London. We received a wide range of imaginative and thought-provoking entries and the judges were left very impressed with all of the age categories. A huge thank you to all involved!

The entries were judged by: Charlie Bibby (Chief Photographer, Financial Times), Will Gompertz (BBC News Arts Editor), Camilla Batmanghelidj, (Founder, Kids Company), Hugo Glendinning (freelance photographer) and Purni Morell (Artistic Director, Unicorn Theatre).
