This morning at the Editorial Intelligence Comment Awards, the Financial Times took home five honours for best commentary, including Comment Pages of the Year.

FT’s comment and analysis editor Frederick Studemann said: “I am delighted to accept the award for Comment Pages of the Year and would like to extend a huge thank you my colleagues who work tirelessly to feature the best comment in the world. I’d also like to thank Lionel Barber who is a great champion of comment and has allowed us freedom to innovate and experiment.”

Studemann accepted the award on Ganesh’s behalf, saying: “Janan is original and intelligent and a wonderful writer who is a delight to work with. He is at the absolute top of his game and is the best political commentator in the UK.”

The awards celebrate and acknowledge the finest UK commentators across a number of fields, from business and politics to food and fashion.
