30 January 2019: Today the FT announces the appointment of Cantlin Ashrowan as chief product officer (CPO).

In this position, Ashrowan will be responsible for overseeing the development of the FT’s industry leading product portfolio, including FT.com, the FT’s award-winning website. He will report to chief product and information officer Cait O’Riordan.

Ashrowan joins the FT from Condé Nast International, where he worked as director of product and innovation. There, he was responsible for overseeing a team of designers, UX and product managers who were instrumental in bringing new products to market and transforming the company’s internal toolset. Prior to that, Cantlin worked at the Guardian on their website and digital content platform.

“We’re delighted that Cantlin will be joining our team,” O’Riordan said. “His experience and expertise in media will be vitally important to us as we continue to grow our global audience and build the FT’s product offering for a new generation of readers.”

“The Financial Times has an incredibly strong core product, and one of the most highly regarded product and technology teams in the industry,” said Ashrowan. “It’s a rare privilege to be able to join a 131 year old institution that has remained essential to its readership and has such vast opportunities ahead.”
