30 June 2020: Today, the Financial Times announces the launch of Energy Source, a newsletter that delivers essential information and forward-thinking, smart analysis of the global energy industry. It is written by FT experts with unrivaled access to the people and events that matter most. Readers can expect a fresh look, deep insider intelligence and a conversational tone as they read about one of the most important sectors in the global economy.

Energy Source will offer premium FT subscribers a twice-weekly dive into the most pressing issues in the industry. Led by Derek Brower, the FT’s US energy editor, the team includes US energy reporter Myles McCormick, energy editor David Sheppard, senior energy correspondent Anjli Raval, and natural resources correspondent Gregory Meyer

“While we’ve seen upheavals in many industries around the world, the effects from changes in the energy sector can really be felt everywhere,” said Brower. “Energy Source will help readers interpret how natural gas prices in Tokyo Bay can influence investment decisions in Israel; how oil policy agreed in Vienna can make or break local economies in North Dakota; and how rules adopted in India can shatter demand models in Manhattan. We will translate local intelligence gleaned from on-the-ground reporting into tight and timely news that matters to our readers.”

Energy Source will be brought to life for the first time with an FT reader event later this summer.
