18 June 2020: Today, the Financial Times was awarded three wins at the Campaign Publishing Awards, which recognises commercial excellence and innovation by publishers and media owners.

The Financial Times was named International Media Business of the Year and Media Business of the Year (Business Media category) for producing a number of hard-hitting exclusives and investigations; carving out a niche in the 2020 US election coverage with the FT-Peterson Economic Monitor; launching a number of new reporting verticals including  Moral Money, Trade Secrets and Due Diligence; and launching FT Strategies, a boutique consulting firm.

Chief communications and marketing officer Finola McDonnell was named Business Leader of the Year for leading the successful launch of the FT’s The New Agenda campaign. Judges praised McDonnell for "inspiring others to speak out and all of us to question the morality of business decisions.”

The New Agenda is the FT’s most substantial brand platform since the 2008 financial crisis. It puts the FT firmly on the side of responsible business and underlines the role of the FT as a trusted guide to the ‘new normal'. The opening statement - capitalism, time for a reset - provoked global debate about the rights and wrongs of modern capitalism, suggesting that the pursuit of shareholder value above all else is bad for society and, ultimately, bad for business.

Additionally, the FT was awarded a high commendation in the Launch of the Year category for The New Agenda. The FT received another high commendation in the Brand of the Year Business Media.
