The Financial Times has been named the international publication of choice by the most influential business leaders in Europe, according to the latest Business Elite Europe survey from Ipsos MORI. It remains the top international publication for the 18th consecutive survey, with FT.com leading among the commercial content based websites and the FT newspaper voted the most prominent business read.

The 2011 BE:Europe figures show 47% of people still consider newspapers to be the most reliable source of business news with the internet ranking second at 32%. From the 451,000 senior executives surveyed, 70,404 of Europe’s business elite consume the FT in print or online every day, and when combined the FT newspaper and FT.com reach almost a quarter of the BE:Europe’s audience. Business budgets controlled by FT readers saw a yoy increase of 7%, further highlighting the elite bracket the brand reaches.

Anita Hague, global research director at the Financial Times, said: “The BE:Europe survey underscores the strength of the Financial Times in Europe and demonstrates the importance of quality journalism in times of great uncertainty.  Reaching more C-Suites, CEOs and decision makers than any other international media brand, the FT offers unmatched advertising effectiveness with a targeted, multi-platform approach.”
