Financial Times launches a series on the Future of Investing

On 28th September the Financial Times is launching Future of Investing, a series of agenda-setting articles, opinion pieces and features that will run across regular sections of the newspaper and FT.com until 17th October.

Building on the successful Future of Capitalism series from earlier this year, the Future of Investing series will see top FT journalists and guest commentators scrutinise how the credit crunch has shaken faith in the established models of investing and the challenges this poses for savers, governments and the financial industry.

Lionel Barber, editor of the Financial Times: “We want to provide our readers with unrivalled insight into the financial crisis and how it is likely to affect the global investment industry. Some of the world’s top business thinkers will join us in leading the debate on one of the most important issues facing the global economy.”

The Future of Investing series will be kicked off by award-winning FT journalist Gillian Tett who, together with investment correspondent Kate Burgess, will set the scene with an overview of the crisis. John Authers, the FT’s investment editor, will examine the failings of investment theory and columnist John Plender will analyse the challenges for governments.

Additional commentary will be provided by FT columnists and leading global figures, practitioners, politicians and academics including Robert Shiller, Christine Lagarde, Michael Milken and Paul Myners.

The Future of Investing series will run in the FT newspaper, FTfm and FT Money. In the UK, FT Money will provide special features aimed specifically at the British private investor. All of the content will also be available on a multimedia hub on FT.com, as well as video interviews, allowing readers to engage with FT journalists and key figures in the investment industry.
