8 July 2020: Today, the Financial Times and Nikkei announce the launch of #techAsia, a refreshed newsletter focussed on technology trends in Asia, with exclusive news, crisp analysis, smart data and the latest tech buzz distilled by a joint team from the FT and the Nikkei Asian Review.

The new weekly briefing will include a “Best of Comment” section to explore the most incisive observations on developments among tech companies. It will discuss topics such as: will US-China rivalry turn into a new Cold War? How severely will regional supply chains be disrupted? Is India’s tech boom heading for bust? What are Silicon Valley’s biggest names doing in Asia?

“Our readers are fascinated by the relationship between Asia and the rest of the world, particularly when it comes to the role of tech,” said FT global China editor James Kynge. “This global interest is more acute than ever before and #techAsia will be an important tool in understanding what the future of tech might look like in an ever more globalised world.”

The new #techAsia briefing compliments the FT’s suite of tech-focussed newsletters, including #techFT and #fintechFT. It replaces Tech Scroll Asia, which was the first co-branded newsletter between the FT and Nikkei. #techAsia has three editions globally, including a Japanese language edition.

#techAsia will be brought to life today with a LinkedIn Live event, “US-China tech decoupling: A new Cold War?” Readers can register for the event here
