On October 4, the Financial Times and Brazil Confidential hosted a panel debate and reception in New York City to mark the release of exclusive research on the growing relationship between China and Brazil. Gillian Tett, US Managing Editor of the FT, opened the evening and Richard Lapper, Editor of Brazil Confidential, followed with a presentation on his findings.

The panel was comprised of high caliber experts including Mario Garnero, Chairman of Brasilinvest, Persio Arida of BTG Pactual, Alan Taylor, Professor of Economics at the University of Virginia, and Richard Lapper. It was chaired by Paulo Sotero, Director of the Brazil Institute at the Woodrow Wilson Center in Washington, DC.
