How long have you worked at the FT and what do you cover?
I’ve worked at the FT for four and a half years and write for the Lex Column.
What made you want to be a journalist?
Journalists are super fun people who do what they do because they love it, not for the money. That makes for a happy career.
Most bizarre part of your journalism career?
I went to the ballet as a guest of Rio Tinto in London and I got to use the Queen’s toilet in the Royal Box at the Royal Opera House.
Career highlight to date?
If I’m being honest, it was my headline “Yeah baht, No baht” back in 2007 when we wrote about the flip-flopping by Thailand’s central bank over its currency.
Top three tips for success in Journalism?
1. Never write something that’s been written before
2. Prioritise your points
3. You can never write simply enough
First CD/tape/vinyl that you bought?
I think the first album I bought was by “Shakin’ Stevens”, an appalling UK Elvis impersonator…I think I was 8. My taste since then has got worse.

Most embarrassing moment?
Appearing on a Lex Video recently in sneakers, thinking they were hidden from camera.
If you were Prime Minister/President for a day, what would you do?
I’d make everyone, absolutely everyone wear all yellow.
