  • Financial Times’ Hack Day generates dynamic new products

    Last week the Financial Times held its inaugural Hack Day event, providing a platform for web developers to create engaging and original products. Developers were invited to invent and build new products using a range of Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) from both traditional and new media, including the FT’s search and content APIs.

    The two-day event saw 22 teams and 54 participants huddled together creatively working on projects. This included external guests from the Guardian, Pearson, Apigee and LBi. Facebook’s Chief Software Engineer Stefane Crozatier was also on hand to guide and oversee the work.

  • Financial Times hires Janan Ganesh as its new UK political columnist

    The Financial Times today announces that Janan Ganesh will be joining its esteemed roster of FT columnists on August 1. In a weekly column published on Tuesdays, he will give his incisive take on UK politics and will also contribute regularly to comment pages, FT.com and FT Weekend.

    Ganesh joins the FT after five years as a political correspondent at The Economist where his work has earned recognition for striking the heart of British political debate. Prior to that, he worked as a research fellow at Policy Exchange, a Westminster think tank.

  • Financial Times Hosts Inaugural FT Business of Asset Management Summit in Asia

    HONG KONG: Leaders in asset management will gather in Hong Kong on 21 June 2012 for the FT Business of Asset Management Summit to discuss strategic opportunities being generated across mature and fast growing emerging markets in Asia and the challenges that must be overcome for the region’s potential to be realised.

    The landmark inaugural Summit – sub-titled “Executing Investor Strategies in a Fast-Changing Marketplace” – will take place at the Four Seasons Hotel in Hong Kong and feature keynote presentations and high-level panels involving CEOs and CIOs from the world’s top asset management companies and institutional investors, discussing the factors affecting this rapidly evolving sector at a time of momentous change in the global economy.

  • Financial Times remains the top international print brand among Europe’s highest earners

    The Financial Times has been named the top international print brand in the 2012 European Media and Marketing Survey (EMS) of the continent’s highest income earners this week, in terms of daily print coverage and website coverage in a 30 day period. Moreover, the FT is the largest international daily newspaper and reaches almost 1.3 million affluent European readers every day in print and online.

    FT.com was the highest ranked print website, reaching 3.5 million users in Europe every month – an increase of 11% from last year’s EMS survey.
