  • Borzou Daragahi wins American Academy of Diplomacy award

    Borzou Daragahi, the FT’s North Africa correspondent, has been honoured by the American Academy of Diplomacy with the Arthur Ross Media Award for Daily Reporting. Other honorees in today’s ceremony included Robert Gates (former US secretary of defence) and Amb. Edmund J. Hull (former US ambassador to Libya and author of High Value Target: Countering Al-Qaeda in Yemen).

  • Financial Times named the most important business read by the world’s largest financial institutions

    The Financial Times has been named the most important business read, and FT.com the second highest ranking website among the world’s largest financial institutions, in the 2011 Global Capital Markets Survey (GCMS). Moreover, the FT brand (in print, online or on a mobile device) is the leading global daily media brand of choice amongst the total GCMS audience.

    The survey, complied by Think Media, looks at the media consumption habits of heads of finance and treasurers of the largest organisations. The figures reveal that print media is still highly regarded among this audience, with 91 % of respondents preferring to read a newspaper everyday and 50% turning to online.

  • Financial Times launches FT India Web App for iPad and iPhone

    The Financial Times is today launching a new FT web app for the Indian market, available directly through a web browser at app.ft.com/india, for the Apple iPad and iPhone. Web app users can access all stories on the home page for free, exclusively in India.

    The FT India app features tailored Financial Times content covering the latest Indian and international business news and analysis. The app has also been customised to highlight news from the beyondbrics blog, business education reports, the A-list commentary column, the Alphaville blog and the recently launched Luxury 360, the Financial Times’ new online hub for creative and commercial coverage of the luxury goods industry.
