  • Financial Times launches app for Samsung Galaxy Tab

    London: The Financial Times today announced that it will launch a HTML5-based app for the new Samsung Galaxy Tab which will be available to download from the Android device’s launch on 1 November. The app has been optimised for the Galaxy Tab format and features.

    The app is available for free and is integrated into the FT.com access model whereby users will need to register after reading three articles a month and then can choose to pay to subscribe after reading 10. At launch, Samsung will sponsor completely free access to FT content through the app until the end of November following the free registration process.

  • Financial Times introduces PayPal to help drive further subscription growth

    London: The Financial Times today announced that it has introduced PayPal as a payment option to help facilitate subscription payments on FT.com. The PayPal solution is being rolled out as part of a new subscriptions sign-up portal designed to make it easier for readers to sign up to a variety of subscription options. The new portal is currently being tested on a proportion of visitors to FT.com.

The awards are a celebration of individual commentators, the comment editors and also newspapers/blogs themselves. Gideon writes a weekly piece and a blog which covers a variety of topics from US foreign policy to European politics and the Middle East.
