Sarah Hopkins

Chief People Officer

Sarah Hopkins is chief people officer at the Financial Times, based in London. She leads the global agenda for people operations, talent acquisition, development and learning, diversity, equity and inclusion, as well as engagement and culture. Her work is central to shaping an inclusive and high-performing environment that supports the FT’s journalistic excellence and commercial success.

Hopkins joined the FT in 1996 and has since held a wide range of senior leadership positions within the people team. During her tenure, she also gained broader experience through work experience at Pearson, the FT’s former parent company, further enriching her perspective on people strategy across different business contexts.

In addition to her corporate role, she is committed to social impact through her voluntary work with The Cranfield Trust, where she provides pro bono HR consultancy to UK charities.
