On September 17th the refreshed FT House & Home section will launch to mark its transformation since editor Jane Owen and deputy editor Laura Battle took over last year. Advertising revenue for House & Home increased by 28% in the first half of 2011, reflecting the success of the section and the demand for high quality journalism with focus on property, architecture, interiors and gardens.

Jane Owen, editor of House & Home, said: “The section’s new look has been prompted by the new range of features, analysis and comment we are now producing to serve FT’s high-end global readership, and we want to emphasise a mix of authority and humour with elegant, uncluttered pages.”

The 24 page issue’s clean, fresh design melds a core of award-winning FT writers from Edwin Heathcote, Lucy Warwick-Ching, Ed Hammond and H&H deputy editor Laura Battle with renowned authorities Simon Thurley, CEO, English Heritage; Jonathan Foyle, CEO, World Monuments Fund, and veteran columnist Robin Lane-Fox.

A new property column will kick off with a first entry from FT’s property correspondent Ed Hammond, and its interiors pages will be boosted by internationally renowned interior designers Nicky Haslam, Ben Pentreath and Henrietta Spencer Churchill who write about latest trends. David Tang, entrepreneur and founder of ICorrect joined the section in recent months as the FT’s first agony uncle.
