Demetri Sevastopulo, Washington Bureau Chief

Demetri is Washington bureau chief, leading the FT’s coverage of US politics and policy and the 2016 presidential election. After joining the FT in 2002, Demetri covered Washington for seven years in various roles and spent five years in Hong Kong as the FT’s Asia news editor and South China correspondent. Most recently, he was US political correspondent.

Tom Braithwaite, US Banking Editor

Tom Braithwaite joined the FT in 2005 and currently leads the US financial services team, covering the biggest Wall Street firms.

Ed Crooks, US Industry and Energy Editor

Gillian Tett leads the FT’s editorial operations in the region across all platforms. She writes weekly columns for the Financial Times, covering a range of economic, financial, political and social issues throughout the globe. Andrew Edgecliffe-Johnson is the US News Editor for the Financial Times, responsible for coordinating the FT’s daily Americas news coverage globally. He is based in New York.

John Authers, Senior Investment Columnist

John Authers is responsible for the weekly Long View and other columns on markets and investment. He also presents a daily video series for FT.com.

Edward Luce, Commentator

Edward writes a weekly column on US politics, economy and foreign policy. Previously, Luce served as the FT’s Washington bureau chief, leading coverage of American politics and managing the DC-based team of reporters. He has also worked as the FT’s South Asia bureau chief in New Delhi, capital markets editor in London, and as the Philippines correspondent.

Matthew Garrahan oversees coverage of the media, marketing and entertainment industries. He is based in New York.
