When taking your subscription details we use a secure server (128 bit SSL) which encrypts all the personal information you give us before it is sent, including your credit or debit card details and your name and address.

We also follow strict security procedures in the offline storage and disclosure of your information, to prevent unauthorised access.

Q: Is FT reader and customer data at risk following the Heartbleed bug?
A: We have a responsibility to our readers, staff and customers to keep data safe and we work very hard to ensure data protection is built into our products from the start. Following the exposure of a major security vulnerability in the SSL encryption method used by two-thirds of the world’s websites including the Financial Times, the FT Technology team has taken all necessary action to protect FT systems, services and data. We were notified of the Heartbleed bug in advance and began securing our affected servers that host customer information immediately. There is no evidence that any customer data has been compromised.
