IT developers

The Financial Times (FT) is a modern news organisation with operations and staff operating in 53 countries around the world. Our IT requirements are challenging and extensive, and we therefore have a particular need for talented IT developers.

Our investment in technology and our world-class team of IT developers and engineers are essential for:

  • allowing the FT’s teams to collaborate across borders and time zones
  • developing and delivering award-winning content across a growing range of both digital and print channels.

A culture of award-winning innovation

The FT has a culture of innovation where ideas are developed and carried out quickly.

The FT Web App

The FT Web App is a good example. Launched in June 2011 it was accessed by 100,000 users in the first week and has seen over 1.7m users to date. The FT is the first major news publisher to launch an app of this type, which uses flexible HTML5 technology to to create a faster, automatically updating and improving app.

Paid subscription

Our paid-subscription model continues to win plaudits at a time when other publishers are still looking to monetise their news content.
