31 August 2015: Today marks the tenth anniversary of (“FTChinese”), the Financial Times’ Chinese language publication. To celebrate this significant milestone, FTChinese is hosting a cocktail party tonight at Rosewood Beijing for staff, clients, business partners, and influential figures in global business and finance.

FTChinese was launched August 31, 2005, with a small team in Beijing. Today, the business has staff in Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong and London, providing news and information to China’s top business executives and decision makers.

FTChinese boasts nearly 2.4m registered users, a ten per cent increase on last year. The news site also has 4.4m followers across its key social media channels, including Sina Weibo, Tencent Microblog, WeChat and more.

FTChinese has achieved exceptional success over the past ten years and continues to produce world-class editorial. FTChinese has been honoured eight times by the Society of Publishers in Asia (SOPA) Awards for Editorial Excellence. Most recently, in June, Wu Wei and Xiao Shu received the Award for Excellence in Opinion Writing and the category’s honourable mention, respectively.

FTChinese has a strong track record in covering breaking news, vital issues and featuring exclusive interviews. Two highlights include former editor-in-chief Lifen Zhang’s 2009 interview with then-Chinese Premier, Wen Jiabao, about the international financial crisis; and, in 2008, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang contributed an article, ‘China will stay the course on sustainable growth’ – a topic that remains at the top of news agendas.

FTChinese has built upon its original offering to include new products and services for a growing global audience. This year alone, the company launched its first Kindle e-book, a Chinese version of Lunch with the FT, to critical acclaim; and introduced FTIntelligence, a paid-for research service, providing industry and market data and insights.
