21 November 2014: Last night the FT hosted its first annual 125 flagship event in London. FT editor Lionel Barber interviewed Jack Dorsey, CEO of Square, chairman of Twitter and founder of both. The event is the latest in an exclusive members-only forum to help prepare the next generation of business leaders.

Dorsey announced during the interview that Square would make its free Register app available globally. He also discussed the future role of social products for businesses. About his own career he said he chose to study computer science over politics at university “because it had the power to create change in an instant, rather than years”.

Past 125 speakers include Mark Carney, governor of the Bank of England; Stephanie Flanders, chief market strategist for EMEA at JP Morgan; Sir Gerry Grimstone, chairman of Standard Life; Gavin Patterson, chief executive of BT; and Sir Howard Stringer, former chairman of Sony.
